Tags: gannet farewell spit golden bay colonyThe Gannets arrive at this time of year to choose their nest site and catch up with their "special mate". Over the next few months there is a lot of coming and going from the colony, this is to collect materials to build their nests. The Gannets you see feeding around Golden Bay and Tasman Bay are more than likely to call Farewell Spit home. We look forward to seeing the chicks hatching later on this year, we will start to do Gannet colony tours in October -Exciting times ahead.
